I’m Norwegian, living outside Rome for the last 7 years with my Italian husband, and I just love it! Finally I have all the time in the world to craft, create, experiment and design.
I grew up in a small village where my parents by need, daily used their skills in all kind of crafts.
My mother taught me how to sew, knit and crochet, among other housely things.
My father taught me how to fish, climb a mountain, and set tiles, do carpentry, paint and anything else you need to know about building a house.
My education made me a seamstress and a fashion designer, but I’ve always worked in the interior- and hobby/craft-sector.
Now I design quality crochet patterns!
My major inspiration is photos on Pinterest!
It's a huge place for inspiration, in every category thinkable! Anything can trig an idea; A pair of shoes, color combinations on a house, an old wedding-dress, a pair of glasses....
When I design for a pattern, I mostly go from the idea of the finished item, and break it down to yarn quality, weight, gouge, hook, crochet stitches, sizes, and so on.
Then I start to swatch. And swatch and swatch!
I have a vast collection of crochet stitches, and I often enjoy myself looking at them. One single stitch can set off a storm of ideas, and will sooner or later result in a finished pattern.
As Norwegian, I strongly feel my roots! I love the traditional knitted wool sweaters and cardigans, with stranded, colored patterns. Somehow called "Fair Isle Knit" !!
These patterns are used in all Scandinavia. So I have made some crocheted versions for this style!

Being Norwegian, Ive learned to appreciate them as part of my cultural inheritance. These sweaters were knitted in the wool’s natural shades. Fancy color combinations, like my red and white, have been used only the last 5 decennial or so. The body is created as the traditional sweaters; Straight like a tube, no shaping. Once youve got the hang of the pattern, the sweater works up real fast; In no-time, compared to a knitted sweater with stranded pattern! I’m always looking for methods to achieve the style in crochet! As an optional final finish, I have added surface crochet- and embroidery embellish to the cuffs and hemline! Another inspiration from the vintage Scandinavian knitted sweaters. See pics with- and without. Full tutorial in pattern for the surface-stitches! One piece, top/down. No yarn-breaking. Free KNITTING PDF for this gorgeous Bunny Mini Cuddly Blankie Knitting pattern by Gypsycream

Bunny Mini Cuddly Blankie Knitting pattern by Gypsycream: A lot of customers ask how easy/hard my designs are and although I explain that I write my patterns as simply as possible, no abbreviations, line per row, stitch count at the end of each row and include a step-by-step assembly guide which is full of photos, they still think they must be difficult.I thought the best way would be to offer a free download, just in time for Easter. This is a bunny mini cuddly blankie. I have used cotton which is great to catch those dribbles and very chewable, suckable and washable. This is a lovely quick knit for a special little person in your life.

Did you miss the Mandala Madness CAL its not too late click the link for all the parts and tutorials

Have you seen the Mandala Madness CAL? Ever considered giving it a go but not sure? Well this is the final item. This link has all the CAL parts in one place, a yarn list (although you could use your stash) and easy to follow video tutorials and much more.
It truly is a piece of art worth the effort. I won't be able to part with mine (selfish but true) someone would have to remove it from my cold dead hands lol.
A new CAL has been announced by the same designer (It's All In A Nutshel)l it starts towards the end of October and I hope to host this.
